Jan 2025, I started a certain AI chat service subscription, at the beginning I used it quite often, after 6 months, I didn’t use it quite often, but ignored the fact it was keeping cost my 23 euro per month, and last November, paypal sent me email about my bank account amount was not enough to pay the new subcription so it would be stopped, at that time I just thought ok so it was the end of the subscription, several month’s money was spent but fine. Until now.

When I used my personal email, which is filled with promotions, to receive some receipts, I knew I would get enormous of ads and on the process of deleting, some email with very disturbing subject just caught my eye. It is a law firm, asking me to pay penalty with 30 euro lawyer’s fee, which is higher than actual money the auto subscription failed to get? Quite terrified at the beginning (and constantly thinking about maybe just not returning to Germany again…), at the end I just made the transfer, with extra bank service charge, I paid more than quadruple of the original fee. Extremely frustrated, definitely not content, since I just wasted all my evening and 100 euro.

Sad but bought a lesson I guess.
